EVM World 2012, Florida, USA

Keynote at EVM World 2012 presenting the research book "Measuring Time".

OR-AS partner Mario Vanhoucke and EVM Europe board member Stephan Vandevoorde will give the keynote presentation at the 28th Annual International EVM World 2012 Conference. Since the early endeavors that have led to the development of ProTrack at OR-AS, both speakers have closely worked together to bring researchers and practitioners together in the field of project control and earned value management. These developments have led to the creation of EVM Europe where OR-AS is active as board member and sponsor for their yearly events.

The central theme of the presentation is "research meets practice" and will be structured as follows: First, an extensive overview of the research questions published in Measuring Time will be given. No methodological details or state-of-the-art techniques will be discussed, but instead a focus on a general overview and easy translation into general guidelines and rules-of-thumbs will be taken. Afterwards, Stephan will link the academic results to his practical project experience. He will explain how and why the approach that has led to the creation of the ProTrack's dynamic scheduling approach has helped him to create, manage and obtain more succesful projects.

Moreover, Jeroen Colin will also present preliminary results of an integrated project control study using Earned Value Management and process control techniques.
