In 2020, Mario Vanhoucke received the Vlerick Researcher of the Year Award for for the 14 articles published in 2020 and the 8 case studies written for the “Data-driven project management” course module

In 2018, Annelies Martens received the PMI Belgium PhD Award for the research entitled “Buffer management methods for project control”, Brussels, Belgium
- In 2017, the Elsie Cropper Award for Best Paper entitled “In pursuit of more accurate project forecasts: Integration of earned value management with exponential smoothing and reference class forecasting” at the Young OR Conference in London (presented by Jordy Batselier)

At the World congress of the International Project Management Association (IPMA) in Rome (Italy, 2008), Mario Vanhoucke has received the IPMA Research Award for his study on project control and the use of Earned Value Management and its integration in OR-AS' software tool ProTrack.

In 2007, the Belgian chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI-Belgium) has awarded Mario Vanhoucke with the PMI Research Collaborations Fund for his research on "Measuring Time" and his promotion of these research results to the Belgian Project Management community.

At the annual American Accounting Association meeting in Denver (2011), Mario Vanhoucke has won the “Notable Contributions to Management Accounting Literature Award”. This award recognizes an outstanding contribution to the management accounting literature and is granted by the American Accounting Association which promotes worldwide excellence in accounting education, research and practice. This award is for his 2007 paper “A Simulation Analysis of Interactions among errors in Costing Systems”, which was published in The Accounting Review, and co-authored with Eva Labro (Kenan-Flagler Business School)
