Earned Schedule: 10 years after... and more

The research on Earned Schedule... and more.

10 years after the introduction of Earned Schedule introduced by Walt Lipke, a lot of work has been done at various places. In a nice overview article published in the Measurable News, Walt gives a description and a look-ahead of the period between his first article on Earned Schedule and the current state. Various people are mentioned, among others Kym Henderson, Stephan Vandevoorde and myself, who have become partners and good friends throughout the years. Software tools that have incorporated Earned Schedule in the control features are also mentioned, and ProTrack is not forgotten. Thank you Walt!

The article is a perfect read to have an idea of the ES concept and clearly shows the progress from the initial publication of the first paper "Schedule is different" to the absorption and recognition of its value as a good alternative project control tool. I suggest to all my students to download this article here!

It was certainly not the intention of the article to provide a full overview of all research done on Earned Schedule, but I would like to take this opportunity to give a full overview of the research that we have done in which EVM and ES are used as project control tools. For more background on the collaborations between people involved in this research or the projects we have carried out in the past, readers can freely download The Art of Project Management: A Story about Work and Passion

Below you find the Earned Schedule and Project Control literature list done at the OR&S research group as known today. More work is on its way and will be updated here.
