International Conference on Applied Operational Research - ICAOR

On Wednesday, July 25, 2012, A presentation has been given at the International Conference on Applied Operational Research (ICAOR) in Bangkok, Thailand. 

The board of EVM Europe had a meeting at the campus of University of Twente to discuss practical details, sponsorship agreements, workshop theme and many other things for the upcoming event in November 28-29, 2012. In order to clarify some issues, the mission, conference theme and academic support has been set into the spotlight at the website.

EUROvisionOR Contest: 12 points for Belgium!

Four of our Operations Researchers from the OR&S group at Ghent University are now in Vilnius, Lithuania for the 25^thEuropean Conference on Operational Research.

PSG in Paris!

From Ghent to Antwerp to London and recently to Paris! And soon... the rest of the world?

On June 21, 2012, our Project Scheduling Game (PSG) has been used by the EDHEC Business School in Paris. As you all know, the PSG is a game to learn how to cope with time/cost trade-offs in Project Management. The game takes approximately 3 hours, including an introduction and feedback session. Time and cost still important?

This morning, two students at Ghent University have compared the use of ProTrack with various other project management methods and have concluded that ProTrack is "an ideal tool to control time and cost of a project when these two objectives are important".

Glad to hear this good ProTrack news from someone else... but are the time and cost objectives still important?

I believe they are... 

P2 Engine still runs on the supercomputer

We have posted before that P2 Engine runs on the supercomputing infrastructure of Ghent University in order to generate terrabytes of project data simulating project progress, risk metrics, performance measures, EVM data, and much more.
